Arbitrators’ and Mediators’ Institute of NZ announces departure of CEO, Sue Wells

AMINZ CEO Sue Wells is moving to the Royal Commission of Enquiry into Abuse in Care as the General Manager, Survivor Accounts.

As the commission has a finite term in which to complete its work, the AMINZ Council has enabled Sue to transition across in mid-March 2022.

Sue says, “While I am very much looking forward to joining the Royal Commission, leaving AMINZ is very hard. I’ve been with AMINZ since August 2019 and I’m very proud of what we’ve accomplished since then. We’ve coped with Covid, brought in a new website and membership system, transitioned to an online environment, and managed to host an absolutely incredible conference at Te Puia, in Rotorua.

.

The work that AMINZ members do is hugely important for access to justice for all, and I’m looking forward to playing a part in that mahi in my new role with the Royal Commission.”

The AMINZ Council thanks Sue for her work navigating AMINZ and its members through the past two years, particularly during the height of the pandemic.

“Sue leaves AMINZ in really good shape and we wish her all the best with this next step in her career” says President Mark Kelly.

Council will release their plans on next steps for the Institute’s leadership transition in the coming weeks.
