2022 AMINZ Scholarships

In 2021, AMINZ announced the creation of two new scholarships aimed at fostering diversity and leadership in the dispute resolution sector in Aotearoa/New Zealand.

For the second year running, we are delighted to be on the look out again to find our two new scholars for 2022. Applications are currently open!

One determinative scholarship (focussed on arbitration) sponsored by Russell McVeagh, and one consensual scholarship (focussed on mediation) sponsored by the Domain Name Commission will be awarded by the AMINZ Diversity Committee.

The recipients will be rising stars in dispute resolution, and the scholarships are tailored to professional development within the sector.

Recipients will hold their scholarships from 1 April 2022 – 31 March 2023.

The scholars will receive:

  • Allocated a senior AMINZ member as a dispute resolution mentor

  • Minimum of six days observation of a determinative or consensual process with senior practitioner(s)

  • Speaking spot at the Annual AMINZ Conference on a dispute resolution topic of their choice

  • AMINZ Affiliate membership for two years

  • Financial support by way of expense reimbursements for costs occurred during their scholarship period

Recipients will conclude their scholarship year with a report to the AMINZ Council on how they think AMINZ might better promote diversity, within itself, and in dispute resolution.

Applications close 5pm 18 March 2022.
