Continuing Professional Development

Develop and maintain your professional competence

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a requirement for anyone on an AMINZ Panel or List.

AMINZ provide various opportunities throughout the year for practitioners to continually develop their understanding of dispute resolution and earn points towards their CPD requirement.

CPD categories

Your CPD points can be gained across three categories. You will need to ensure you have gained points in at least two of the three categories each year.

So, what constitutes a CPD point? Explore each category below and find out how many points you can gain based on the activities you participate in.

Category One: Practice

These points can be gained for each event in which you have made a direct contribution to the practice of dispute resolution.

Members claiming under this clause are invited to submit brief details on the relevant dispute resolution process. The assessors may, where they consider appropriate, approve a credit of fewer points.

Category Two: Teaching or Learning

Point can be gained for each event where you have contributed to the teaching or learning of ADR at a tertiary level

Category Three: Attendance at Dispute Resolution Events

Take part in dispute resolution focused events and programmes, and you’ll earn CPD points along the way.

Keep an eye out on our events calendar here to see what you can attend.

Example CPD

You will likely gain CPD through your day-to-day professional activities (such as informal mentoring with a colleague.)

Keep this in mind when you're adding up what you have participated in throughout the year.
