Ōtautahi Hui | Christchurch Network Meeting

  • Anthony Harper 62 Worcester Street Christchurch, Canterbury, 8013 New Zealand (map)

In our world of complexity, ambiguity and fear, there seems to be a recognisable increase in binary thinking and more positional dispute behaviour.

Preparation For Mediation (PFM) provides a safe space to challenge parties to initiate shifts to a more conversational process and less positional approach.  Used extensively in family mediations but with wide application to all manner of disputes, PRM provides parties with the self-awareness, motivation and tools to change the way they engage in their dispute, thus changing the dispute itself. It is a mediation-enhancing process with a proven record of increasing the likelihood of parties reaching agreement in mediation.

David Robinson is a skilled operator in the PFM area and is generously providing some insights and tools to how all mediators can practice these processes.  This session would be valuable for mediators, lawyers and representatives who are involved in any kind of mediation.
