A critical skill in the professional toolkit of an arbitrator or mediator is understanding how to best communicate with and work alongside parties from all walks of life and skills. This includes neurodiverse individuals.
Join us for this introductory webinar where you’ll gain an understanding of neurodiverse differences and needs and how you can best support these individuals and their whanau in your practice.
We’ll explore how neurodiverse individuals’ brains are wired, the impact this has on how they process and experience the world, and dive into how different thinking drives particular types of behaviour.
Often neurodiverse individuals won’t share that they are neurodiverse which leads to them missing out on getting the best support they need to thrive. It puts these individuals at risk of falling through the cracks. This webinar is a great stepping stone toward AMINZ Members building the knowledge and skills to support them going forward.

Presented by DivergenThinking
DivergenThinking exist to create opportunities for the Neurodiverse to live fulfilling lives at school, work and in the community, enabling everyone to maximise their strengths and support each other to be their ‘best selves’.
In order to help the Neurodiverse, they understand that there is a need to help everyone understand how different brains are wired to maximise their strengths thereby creating high performing individuals and teams. DivergenThinking have also come to the realisation that without psychological safety, acceptance, inclusion and being valued by employers, we are fighting a losing battle of maintaining mental wellness.
Positively impact customer satisfaction, through teams’ understanding of how best to deal with a variety of customer types, and to recognise the differences and deal with people in a more appropriate manner. Worth noting it will often be the Neurodiverse who are more likely to be creative, take risks, put failure at the back of their mind, and start a business and this is how DivergenThinking came to be.
Further learning: Should members be interested in learning more on this topic, we plan to roll out a further education series on neurodiversity. Please get in touch on generalmanager@aminz.org.nz with your ‘expression of interest’
