Short of giving judgment, what role can the Court play in facilitating dispute resolution? : with Warwick Smith

Recently retired Associate Judge Warwick Smith was going to speak at an Auckland breakfast this month. Thanks to Covid-19 that hasn’t been possible. He has instead kindly agreed to present online – a bonus for those outside Auckland. His topic will be of interest to many AMINZ members.

Please join Warwick and Auckland network convenor Kate Wiseman online at 4pm, 31 March 2022 to discuss the question:

Short of giving judgment, what role can the Court play in facilitating dispute resolution?

Warwick will discuss the Courts' role in facilitating dispute resolution by means other than judgment, including the use of settlement conferences and the reference of appropriate issues to third party report or determination.

Questions and discussion after the presentation welcomed.
