Improving Access to Justice

AMINZ submitted feedback to the Rules Committee of the High Court on Improving Access to Justice. As part of that we also supplied an article by Philip McNamara on mandatory and quasi-mandatory mediation which makes interesting reading.

The submission also included a proposal that a short form arbitration process (similar to the adjudication process under the Construction Contracts Act 2002) could be used for civil claims within the monetary jurisdiction of the District Court.
