Tāmaki Makaurau Hui | Auckland Breakfast Meeting September

  • The Northen Club 19 Princes Street Auckland, Auckland, 1010 New Zealand (map)

Negotiating Across Cultures: An Empathetic Approach

There is a large body of literature that examines differences in communication behaviour between people of different cultural backgrounds. When we prepare to negotiate with someone of a different cultural background, that literature can help us find practical, technical ways to accommodate our differences. Alternatively, we can use the same literature to take an empathetic approach and explore our similarities.

Noa will discuss the process and benefits of the empathetic approach and introduce a simple framework to deal with deep underlying differences and unfamiliar behaviour.
You may wish to prepare for this session by recalling an instance where you felt it was difficult to relate to or communicate effectively with someone of a different cultural background.

You do not need to be an AMINZ member to attend, so please feel free to invite those within your network who may benefit from the discussions and networking.

Join us for an insightful morning of networking, discussions, and inspiration as we welcome Noa Sheer, a guest speaker. Be part of engaging conversations and connect with fellow professionals in the vibrant atmosphere of The Northern Club.

Add to your CPD and receive 1 point for attendance.
