About Michelle

Michelle is a Senior Associate for Tompkins Wake Lawyers, based in their Rotorua office. Prior to moving to private practice, Michelle worked for the Disputes Tribunal as a Referee.

Michelle provides pragmatic advice and support to resolve a wide range of employment, commercial and civil disputes as both an advocate and a mediator. 

Michelle has specific expertise in employment law and immigration issues and has a particular interest in cross-cultural disputes.  Michelle is an Associate of the Arbitrators and Mediators Institute of New Zealand and an appointed member of the Mediation Panel.

She has given regular presentations and training sessions on ethics and privilege in mediation to AMINZ members and as a guest lecturer at Waikato University.  She has convened the Tauranga Dispute Resolution group since 2018.
