About David Robinson

Originally from Canada, David became a NZ trained secondary school teacher in 1968.

From 1975-84 was a Probation Officer working mainly with long-term prisoner issues, alcohol and drug addiction and residential care facilities for prisoners.

Since 1984 David has been a counsellor and mediator in private practice. Mainly working as a contractor to the Family Court as a counsellor and specialist report writer and since 2004 as a Family Court appointed specialist mediator. Completed over 800 mediations during that period.

David has worked as a part-time Guidance Counsellor in 2 secondary schools, as a supervisor to groups of Primary and Secondary school Principals, RTLB's and Guidance Counsellors. Has also worked as a staff support provider to the Christchurch City Council since 1994.
