Courageous Conversations: Michelle Peat
We are thrilled that AMINZ Member Michelle Peat is very close to launching an online programme focussed on parents, teens and conflict. This is going to be a valuable resource for many. For those of you who don’t know Michelle, meet her (and the new course) below.
Kia ora e te whānau. Ko Michelle Peat tōku ingoa. He uri ahau nō ngā tāngata Tiriti.
Hi, I'm Michelle Peat. My family first came to Aotearoa from Wales, then Scotland, England and Ireland – we are a real Celtic mix.
I'm a mum of four grown children, two stepdaughters and four grandchildren and number five on the way (a bit of a Nan brag there).
I’ve been with Fair Way Resolution since 2014 and working in ADR since 2009.
Lately I’ve been making resources for teens and their parents. I’ve made an online course ‘Courageous Conversations with Your Teen’ Supporting parents to manage conflict respectfully. After all the making, it’s finally ready to launch 20 March 2023 – so exciting! Find out more here.
I’ve made an art journal for young people called ‘Make a Splash.’ My first print run sold out 2022, which was awesome. Find out more here.
10% of all sales from the journal and the course go to Gumboot Friday. I just love the work they do for our young people here in Aotearoa.
If you know parents/guardians/workers who might be interested in these resources, feel free to share the links with them.
Arohanui, Michelle
